Manage assets: delete, rename, create folders
I have uploaded some assets that I won't use. It would be nice to be able to delete unneeded assets that we have uploaded (not Doodly assets). It might also be nice to be able to create folders or tabs for assets, or to be able to rename assets (say, to add tags).

You can right-click on the asset to delete/rename it as needed. We will consider adding a folder/tab for uploaded assets.

I would like that folders could be created to organize the uploaded elements.

I am voting for more features for managing assets. "Create folders" (or add tags) seems like it would be very useful. Marking assets as "Favorites" and being able to view that subset would also be useful. But most useful would be the ability to View your available assets in a more efficient way than the program currently provides (the column on the left side of the screen wide enough for just 3 characters). A display mode that used the whole screen for displaying/tagging/favoriting assets would be a great workflow enhancement.

I am all in favour of being able to create folders and shuffle assets around between them as long as this doesn't break their inclusion in existing projects. Let's say I upload a nice picture of a spotted horse, use it in some projects, subsequently rename it "Appaloosa", and then move it into a folder called "Horses". I would either want this not to break anything, or be warned if it was going to break something (e.g., "You are moving/renaming a prop that was used in projects "X", "Y", and "Z" (click here to see full list). Do you want to update the project(s)?/Do you want to make a copy of the prop instead of move it?") With regard to managing assets in general, a combination of tags and folders would probably be best, since folders are better for saving related things and tags are better for finding related things.

This is a crucial requirement for the success of Doodly in the long run. It becomes unmanageable very soon with different self-uploaded props. Suggestions: 1) Allow user to define custom prop-folders (eg. project based). The "My Library" category does not really cover the need of the user. 2) Allow to assign a specific prop to be member of different prop folders. (possibly use tagging mechanism). So we avoid upload of an identical prop that we want to use in different prop-folders. 3) Make a separate full screen for managing props and prop-folders. 4) Adding a prop should not immediately put the prop into the scene. Most of the time people are preparing props in advance and want to upload them in one shot in order put them later-on into the correct scene. (In the current implementation one should create an empty scene first, then upload the different props he/she wants to use, than delete the scene.)

Please create for us the option to create folders in the my Library. It would be very helpful for us to organize our uploaded props. I acquired thousands of props and would like to organize them into folders and I think there are other Doodlers facing the same challenge.

I vote for this to be able to add more categories, change their names and transfer assets from category to the other one.

Yes - Folders need to be added. As I add components like a logo or other custom graphics for a project/ business division /client, it gets very complicated to find them. It would also be great to put many of the unused props / characters ( thinking ones that will probably never be used ) into a folder to declutter what I have to scroll through.

Being able to organise assets would save so much time - even just having a favourites folder would be great

It is so annoying having to scroll the entire library to find the right character, especially when some have dozens of poses and others a handful. This comment is exactly what I came here to make - One representative of each person/character, with a folder that contains the poses so I can easily see all the personalities quickly.

I highly recommend flexible "file management" per se, allowing for users to sort their assets for easier location and reuse of files. As a trainer, I use a lot of screenshots and sometimes I reuse them. Having folder management would be ama zingly helpful.
